In Owlets Class we have our very own ‘Performing Poetry Project’. 

One of our teaching assistants Mr. Bellotti works hard each week to create and introduce us to a new poem which we learn and perform. 

Throughout the week we learn the poem by heart and practise some actions to help us perform it. We are working on developing our expressions and tone of voice to put on a real performance and share our poems from memory. We also work on building our vocabulary by talking about new words which we come across in our poems. 

We each have our own ‘Performing Poetry Project’ book which we take home every week to practise and share our new poem with our families.

Our Poetry sessions are proving to be really popular, and the children are thoroughly enjoying learning a new poem each week.  We are enjoying watching back our performances and seeing how we can improve next time.  We also love to see who has been practising at home, so please do send your videos in to Class Dojo!
