Summer 2

During Summer 2 we will be looking at ‘Stories from the Past.’ This will include fairy tales, myths, legends, fables and tales from other cultures.

We will learn that some stories are very old, others have changed over time and that some can even teach us a lesson.

Our learning this half-term will be enhanced by a visit to the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds. We will find out all about the story of St Edmund and the Wolf and visit historical buildings and ruins to give us a glimpse into the past.

Of course, all of these wonderful stories will encourage us to do lots of writing. We will be writing letters, our own stories and even a description of how to start a fire (inspired by the Greek Myth Prometheus and the Fire).

During this half-term we will also take part in ‘Life Skills and Aspirations Week’ where our normal timetable is set aside for the week to broaden our spectrum of experiences.

It’s going to be a busy and exciting half-term as we prepare ourselves to be Year One ready, with lots of transition opportunities. We can’t wait to make the most of our last half-term as Owlets.
